I dont use gradient often I specialize in layer blending.

-.. Maybe a darker shade of the green aura could fit better for the gradient, darker enough to be told easily apart from the 'shinning'. I like the gradient being subtle, just like you have it right now.

Personally I think the logo is not ugly and is not urgent to change it, but since the gradient was brought up, I gave my 'extra' two cents.
